Do yourself a favor and go buy a older 1970s CB-xxx and put a little money in it, and you will for certain have a more reliable bike (and you will have saved alot of money)

  3. mrnaruto15 says:

you do know that they are opening a manufacturing plant or whatever in cleveland??

  4. Dakoder says:

id like to see a small 2 or 3 cylinder motor instead..myself id be bored on a back road, however in town and commuting this would be perfect (if its reliable)..for the price this is a stellar bike. It looks cool as hell with the mods, but id like to ride one to see for myself.

I meant they went foreign not domestic.

  6. tomp45 says:

They started construction on a manufacturing plant in Cleveland. The went domestic because the couldn’t get anyone to make them in the country, but now they have the money to do it themselves.

  7. pegasus8891 says:

why dont they hire some out of work clevland guys (I hear that crippling depression is the main export of cleveland ) and build them or I think it would be cool if they built a qualty frame and sold it as a self-assembly kit

I hate having to read between the lines. – If a bike sucks it’s your duty as a journalist to say so instead of giving mild complements.

I am a production audio mixer living in Chicago. I can help you. You need it

Quality of parts is connected to the manufacturing standards put in place to meet a certain level of quality. Say an ISO 9001 certified factory producing a product to a certain level based on their design parameters is going to equal one made by any country of the same standard but with lower labor cost. Apple and samsung HD screens are extremely high quality and made in China. One shouldn’t lump everything in with the junk, tools, toys, or electronics just because its produced overseas.

i saw both bikes in my local dealer.. the modified one in the video was there for a tune up so i got the chance to get on it and hear it and looks and sounds amazing. . and yeah i already ordered mine just waiting for next shipment..

  12. Mr305wrangler says:

BMW is expensive because it says BMW on it. China does mean cheap.

  13. Clint Harris says:

I’ll stick to my japanese stuff…

  14. Charles2337 says:

    How reliable are these bikes?

  15. secutorclaudius says:

true, i love the looks. i don’t need no stinking fairing. naked and standard all the way!

  16. theSGlife says:

Cool bike for a new rider such as myself. It’s great to come across this 250cc bike when so far all I see being recommended to me is the Kawasaki Ninja 250. Of all the research I’ve done I really like the look and history of cafe racers and this bike may just be the bike for me.

I got a little giggle on one of the reviewer’s comments about “Sloppy-looking welds”. As an official Old Fart™ I recall reading the exact same thing about a Suzuki back in the `70’s. “The usual sloppy-looking but strong welds”. My 48-year-old Honda C100 has some fairly sloppy-looking welds as well.

I guess I’m trying to say that you are going to pay a premium for pretty, and that is probably fairly low on the list if you are 20 years old and buying your first bike. I say good on them.

  18. jwbeaton says:

This is a great bike. Great value for the price. And if any of you checked CCW out you’d know they are doing more and more manufacturing in the USA. And NO it is not cheap because it’s made in China. BMW makes most of their parts in China and they aint cheap. It’s inexpensive because it is designed that way. Simple tech, simple build, looks cool, rides nice, and you can AFFORD IT.

  19. AudiophileTubes says:

This is a VERY nice bike, especially for the money! For the price of a scooter, you are getting a real classic motorcycle, and an awesome looking one, at that. I applaud CCW for attempting to capture a part of the American motorcycle market that needs more choices (affordable and lower displacement)!

  20. dobbie606 says:

ok, CCW tried to get the bikes ‘made in USA’ but american manufacturers declined, citing liability issues…go figure

  21. bench175 says:

I agree that a crappy bike can be made anywhere, but I also think a good bike can be made anywhere. I thought your original comment meant that only U.S. companies can make good bikes.

  22. livebyreason says:

Then we agree – I never said USA = quality. Broadly speaking, the highest quality bikes come from Japan, Germany, and perhaps Italy. However, a “crappy bike” can be made anywhere.

  23. bench175 says:

I’m just saying that being made in the U.S. means nothing in terms of quality because I would build a crappy motorcycle.

  24. Cab0cl0 says:

She looks very cheap and low quality.

  25. JEEPnF100 says:

The engine is a Lifan, Chinese Honda motor built under license!

They’re at least trying to make sure they get the best of what China has to offer..
